The Japanese Art of Ikebana became a favorite pastime for me several years ago and as a woodworker I enjoyed making Ikebana Vases and /or Ikebana Stands. Being fortunate enough to live in Hawaii I have been surrounded by beautiful wood and between the two loves I started making these Ikebana Vases.

I soon found that I could not find the water holding container that I needed to fit my wood art pieces and also take care of the flower arrangements. I then went through the process of developing several types of "Water Holding Kenzan " that would best fit my work. The Kenzan I have for sale here are one of the types of Kenzan that I came up with. After many years of showing my Ikebana Stands in various shows in Hawaii people began to ask for my kenzan so they could make their own flower holding arrangements. So here is one of the easiest to use kenzan that I sell.

In each set you get one of each :

A) Each individual cup is made of Solid Brass and has a three and one-half inch (3 1/2") lip around a two and three eighths inch (2 3/8") wide cup that is about one and three quarter inch (1 3/4") deep. Each cup has a 1 3/8" pin frog ( Kenzan) attached to the bottom of the cup made Strong Steel Pins set in a lead zinc base. I have these Water Holding Kenzan in FOUR Chemically Treated Colors.. (Polished Brass); (Antique Copper); (Antique Brass); and (Black Nickel) .

B) Each individual cup is made of Solid Brass and is tapered in design with an outside diameter of just over 2 7/16"" at the top and tapers down to about 2" at the bottom. The cup is about one and three- quarter inch( 1 3/4") deep. Each cup has a 1 3/8" pin frog ( Kenzan) attached to the bottom of the cup made out of Strong Steel Pins set in a lead zinc base. I have these Water Holding Kenzan in FOUR Chemically Treated Colors ..(Polished Brass); (Antique Copper); (Antique Brass); and (Black Nickel) .

These Two kenzan are High Quality Solid Brass and each weighs 16 ounces of the lip one and 11 oz. for the tapered one.

You will get TWO Brass Kenzan in this listing one of each style .

Without a doubt these are the best Water Holding Kenzan you can find on the market.

Woodworkers use these by creating a wooden Ikebana vase (like the last picture) and drill a 2 3/8" inch hole that will hold the Lip of the Kenzan without it falling through the hole. ...or held up by the lip on the other model.

Pottery people use my Kenzan as they are water proof and don't leak so they don't have to seal their clay art work to be waterproof.
