The Japanese Art of Ikebana became a favorite pastime for me several years ago and as a woodworker I enjoyed making Ikebana Vases and /or Ikebana Stands. Being fortunate enough to live in Hawaii I have been surrounded by beautiful wood and between the two loves I started making these Ikebana Vases.
I soon found that I could not find the water holding container that I needed to fit my wood art pieces and also take care of the flower arrangements. I then went through the process of developing several types of "Water Holding Kenzan " that would best fit my work. The Kenzan I have for sale here are one of the types of Kenzan that I came up with. After many years of showing my Ikebana Stands in various shows in Hawaii people began to ask for my kenzan so they could make their own flower holding arrangements. So here is one of the easiest to use kenzan that I sell.
Each individual cup is made of Solid Polished Brass and has a three and one-half inch (3 1/2") lip around a two and three eighths inch (2 3/8") wide cup that is about one and three quarter inch (1 3/4") deep. Each cup has a 1 3/8" pin frog ( Kenzan) attached to the bottom of the cup made Strong Steel Pins set in a lead zinc base. The cup is Polished Brass color . I also have these same Water Holding Kenzan in three other Chemically Treated Colors (Antique Copper); (Antique Brass); and (Black Nickel) which are all listed in separate listings . The last pictures shows all four Color Samples !
These kenzan are High Quality Solid Polished Brass and each weighs 16 ounces or one pound !!
You will get ONE of these 3 1/2" Polished Brass Water Holding Kenzan in this Listing

Without a doubt these are the best Water Holding Kenzan you can find on the market.
Woodworkers use these by creating a wooden Ikebana vase (like the last picture) and drill a 2 3/8" inch hole that will hold the Lip of the Kenzan without it falling through the hole.
Pottery people use my Kenzan as they are water proof and don't leak so they don't have to seal their clay art work to be waterproof.
NOTE : The Koa Ikebana Vases in the pictures are not included in this sale !

Shipping from United States
At the present time I only ship to the USA due to negative Customs experiences I have had in the past.
I ship either US Priority Mail or US First Class mail depending upon the items weight. I try to ship the same day but because of my location in Hawaii your package will usually ship the following day as long as it is not a Sunday or Holiday.
I have a very liberal Return Policy in that you can return anything you want for any reason by notifying me within five days that you want to make a return.
I will refund your money for the product upon receipt of the product back. Shipping fees to return product will be at customers expense. Items may be returned up to 30 days after receipt by customer and notification to me of intent to return product.
A 10% Restocking Fee may apply for certain items.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why don't you ship outside of the USA ?
I will consider and have shipped to other Countries but only after we agree on prices and shipping. This must be done through the Convo system here on Etsy and is not available for all items due to the weight and shipping restrictions on some of my items.
I will however ship to friends or relatives of customers who are located in the USA and then they can make shipping arrangements to the customers location overseas.
