2 "Yellow Teak" 6 Inch Wooden Conical Spiral Hair Stick Pin Pic Fork Pick Bun Holder with Tapered Groove Running the Length of the Stick

This " Yellow Teak" (Haldina Cordifolia) comes from managed forests that are selectively cared for and monitored. This is a fairly straight grained wood that is yellow and darkens to a brownish yellow with age. It has a lustrous surface when finished and goes by several local names like Haldu in India.


The Hair Sticks are 6 inches long and tapers from 1/2" at the top down to point. A groove spirals down the entire length of the stick and I have been told by several women customers that this gives the stick great holding power. This Yellow Teak Hair Stick is like my Rosewood Conical Hair Stick that I receive so many great comments about. This stick is as strong as any wooden Hair Stick you will find on the market.

I consider this stick to be one of my strongest and I would classify it as having good holding power rather than many of my other sticks that I would classify as more decorative with medium to lighter holding power. The use of Hair Sticks as "levers" is not a good idea as most Hair Sticks are decorative and they will break under excess stress. I can say that the way this stick is made it is able to withstand more then normal torture.

As a matter of caution some of the sticks will be sharper then some people like and I therefore recommend that you blunt the tip with an emery board to the degree of sharpness you want.
