As of April 4, 2022 Shipping for the Large Kou Urn will be $ 15.00 by US Priority Mail Flat Rate Box to any State in the USA .
The Urn you see in the pictures is the one you will receive !!
Kou is considered a rare wood. It grows in the coastal regions of the Hawaiian islands. Kou was almost totally destroyed by a moth in the 1800's. This wood was prized by Hawaiian royalty for food use: poi bowls, calabashes and utensils as Kou does not impart a taste to food. The wood for this urn was harvested from a house near the beach in Kailua, Oahu.
The Kou Urn for sale here is approximately seven (6.5) inches wide by five (5) inches deep by nine (9) inches high. I first made the Urn this size about thirty years ago so that two of these would fit the niche at "Punchbowl Cemetery" ...The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Since then the size has been accepted throughout the Hawaiian Islands and I continue to make Koa Urns of this size for burials throughout the State Of Hawaii.
This Kou Urn is made of the finest Kou we could find and is made to hold the cremated ashes of one adult person. The Urn is covered with a precatalyzed semi-gloss lacquer finish.

The Urn can be laser engraved directly into the wood or a brass plate can be mounted on one side. NOTE: I am not set up to do engraving myself as I don't have the equipment but if you are in Honolulu I can advise you where you can get the engraving done.
Customers can either place an engraved plaque on the Urn or can have the Urn laser engraved by their engraver.
Ask any specific questions you have about this particular Urn and if you want any more pictures of certain parts of the Urn.

Feel free to ask any questions that you might have.
I will consider and have shipped to other Countries but only after we agree on prices and shipping. This must be done through the Convo system here on Etsy and is not available for all items due to the weight and shipping restrictions on some of my items.
I will however ship to friends or relatives of customers who are located in the USA and then they can make shipping arrangements to the customers location overseas.
