Teak wood ( Tectona Grandis) has been used in the boat building for over 150 years and is used for outdoor furniture a lot due to its high oil content. This gives Teak great resistance to weathering as well as pest invasion. Over time Teak will turn to a silver-grey color which can be readily seen on the decks of yachts. It is very strong and makes fine Hair Sticks as it is usually just finished by buffing and waxing.

One of the best things about using Teak for hair Sticks is the variety of grain patterns and colors that you come across. Tans with dark stripes are easy to find and the grain though mostly straight can be found in very interesting designs. Teak is truly beautiful and you will be happy with these sticks.
The Hair Stick is 6 inches long and is Straight to reach deep into the hair. It is about 1 inch at its widest point and has a maximum thickness of about 1/4". The Strength of the wood in this 2-Prong fork allows the user to be able to control a large volume of Hair.. I've been told that it is simple to use and does a good job of holding hair .
The Functional Prong Length (FPL) is 4.5" for these 2-Prong Hair Forks and varies within 1/4" from piece to piece.
I classify this Hair Stick as more functional than "Decorative" in that the intent of this Two Prong Fork is to help hold your hair together with a straight forward product with not a lot of "Bling". This is another of the workhorses in my stable.

As a matter of caution some of the sticks will be sharper then some people like and I therefore recommend that you blunt the tip with an emery board to the degree of sharpness you want.
If you find any of my sticks not to your liking I will take them back.

Why don't you ship outside of the USA ?
I will consider and have shipped to other Countries but only after we agree on prices and shipping. This must be done through the Convo system here on Etsy and is not available for all items due to the weight and shipping restrictions on some of my items.
I will however ship to friends or relatives of customers who are located in the USA and then they can make shipping arrangements to the customers location overseas.

One of the teak hair forks was already split, along the grain, when it arrived. I feel that this is something that should have been caught during packaging and not shipped to a customer. Other than that, they're beautiful.
