The Japanese Art of Ikebana became a favorite pastime for me several years ago and as a woodworker I enjoyed making Ikebana Vases and /or Ikebana Stands. Being fortunate enough to live in Hawaii I have been surrounded by beautiful wood and between the two loves I started making these Ikebana Vases.

This Ikebana stand has Contrasting Brownish black and yellowish white indicative of Hawaiian Kou. This Kou Ikebana stand (vase) is approximately 11 inches long, 8 inches wide and an 1 1/2 inches tall. This Kou stand comes with a 1 7/8 inch tapered black pewter finished pin frog as seen in pictures in this listing. I am also adding a brass antique 1 7/8 pin frog as a gift. Perhaps you could have a permanent dry arrangement in one of them to use when you don't have fresh flowers.

Kou is a wood prized by Hawaiians as the wood used for poi calabashes because of its lack of tanic acid found in other native woods that would taint the taste of the poi. It is easy to work with and used to make platters and other eating implements.

The Dried Eucalyptus Leaves of green and purple are used in this setting instead of fresh flowers to give you and idea of what kind of arrangements can be used.

This piece was free formed by myself with the use of my bandsaw and orbital sanders to provide a natural piece of practical art used for flower arrangements.

It will be shipped by USPS Priority mail anywhere in the United States.

If you do not like the Ikebana Vase upon receipt you may return it for a no questions asked refund of your purchase price upon return of vase with shipping paid by you.

The Flowers in the pictures are not included in the sale as I'm sure you can find much better flowers in your yard.

Feel free to ask any and all questions you have about the product or Ikebana woodworking in general.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why don't you ship outside of the USA ?

I will consider and have shipped to other Countries but only after we agree on prices and shipping. This must be done through the Convo system here on Etsy and is not available for all items due to the weight and shipping restrictions on some of my items.

I will however ship to friends or relatives of customers who are located in the USA and then they can make shipping arrangements to the customers location overseas.
