Shipping for this Eucalyptus Ikebana Vase will be $ 15.00 by US Priority Mail to any State in the USA .
The Japanese Art of Ikebana became a favorite pastime for me several years ago and as a woodworker I enjoyed making Ikebana Vases and /or Ikebana Stands. Being fortunate enough to live in Hawaii I have been surrounded by beautiful wood and between the two loves I started making these Ikebana Vases.
This Ikebana stand is from a piece of Eucalyptus burl with a natural edge. Burls are also known as 'burrs' in the US and in the UK - the dashboards of Jaguars are traditionally made from Burr Walnut with the lovely swirly patterns typical of burls or burrs. Burls form on tree roots, trunks and branches as a result of the abnormal development of bud growth cells. They appear as wartlike lumpy growths, roundish in shape and covered in coarse bark. Burls contain twisted, compact wood that is tougher than the wood from the rest of the tree.
This Milo Piece is 15 inches long, 6 to 8 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches tall. The Eucalyptus Burl Vase comes with a 3 inch lip pin frog made of brass with a black pewter finish. I will add a 3 inch lip Brass copper Antique finish pin frog as a gift. Having two gives you the option of making one permanent dry arrangement to use when you don't have fresh flowers. The Dried Eucalyptus Leaves of green and purple are used in this setting instead of fresh flowers to give you an idea how it would look with flowers. They are not included.
This piece was free formed by myself with the use of my bandsaw and orbital sanders to provide a natural piece of practical art used for flower arrangements. The Brown heart and the tan edges are the natural colors of the wood and it is finished with a Precatalyzed lacquer finish that is water resistant so it won't spot with spilled water.
It will be shipped by USPS Priority mail anywhere in the United States.
If you do not like the Ikebana Vase upon receipt you may return it for a no questions asked refund of your purchase price upon return of vase with shipping paid by you.
The Flowers in the pictures are not included in the sale as I'm sure you can find much better flowers in your yard.
Feel free to ask any and all questions you have about the product or Ikebana woodworking in general.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why don't you ship outside of the USA ?
I will consider and have shipped to other Countries but only after we agree on prices and shipping. This must be done through the Convo system here on Etsy and is not available for all items due to the weight and shipping restrictions on some of my items.
I will however ship to friends or relatives of customers who are located in the USA and then they can make shipping arrangements to the customers location overseas.
